Travel to Proxima Centauri?
The speed of light = 1,079.252,849 KM/H. Even without trying to compute how long it would it would take a space craft to travel the distance to Proxima Centauri, just compare the 40,000 KM/H to the above figure, or even 80,000 KM/H or 200,000 KM/H. It is very obvious that at today's speeds and methods of propulsion, space travel is not feasible. A new source of propulsion must be discovered to increase speed to near that of speed of light. Of course that also means the discovery of a new type of material to withstand those speeds. Space travel will be a long time in coming if it comes at all.
