How do you get rid of motion sickness?

I get motion sick on buses, cars, roller coasters, and elevator ( I don't get sick in airplanes though). I've had it for a long time and I have tried the wrist bands and dramamine (it puts me to sleep for a little bit and I still feel sick afterwards) which both don't help me. I've heard of a patch and pills that might help. Has anyone ever tried the patch or know of some who has? Does anyone know of pills that won't put you to sleep? I get migraines, feel sick to my stomach and hot when I get motion sick. The only thing that helps a little is laying my seat down and closing my eyes. It really puts a damper in a lot of plans like traveling in general and going on roller coasters with my neices and nephews.
