Belief in spirits and souls, etc?

why do people believe in spirits and souls? when has anyone ever seen one or noticed any indication of a soul? the general population constantly denies neurological science, preferring to believe that everything about their feelings and personality is attributable to a "soul" or "spirit". neurological science can produce evidence for its claims, but people who believe in metaphysical entities always use faulty logic or just use the excuse that "its a belief, it cant be proven". the fact that it cant be proven actually says a lot. it says so much that it basically screams. emotions and decision making are the result of the brain's limbic system. look it up on wikipedia. souls...haha...
