Best cheap place to eat in New York Midtown?

Try eating at restaurants that aren't chain ones. Some of the best places I ate at when I was there, were little family ones that you stumble on while walking around. So I can't give you any specific names. There was one place that you can try that was kinda cool and I ran into a celebrity when I was there, was a place called Ellen's Diner. It was about 15 years ago, so I don't remember the address, but you could ask the hotel conceirge or the cab driver. Also, if you love cheesecake--go to Lindy's. Have fun! NYC is awesome!
