Helpppppp with naming binary acids!!!!?

okay so i have a question about naming acids. if the formula was H2SO4 how do you get it? but part of the naming process is that if the anion ends in -ate you add -ic at the end of the root. if the anion ends in -ite you add -ous. but how do you know if the original names end in -ite or -ate?!?! the elements in the problem are hydrogen, sulfur, and oxygen. none of them end in -ite or -ate!!! please help i have a test tommorow pleaseeeeeeee help as best you can!!
